In school we are learned about how kiites fly. We made kites out of construction paper and tried to to fly it. Kites fly because of the air pressure differences. When the air moves quickly over something then the pressure decreases causing the kite to move faster. When the air moves slowly the air pressure increases making the kite move slowly. The forces that make kites fly is the thrust and lift. Thrust is formed by wind, so the speed of wind will affect on how well a kite flies. Lift is formed when the bridle and line from the kite hold it at angle to the wind. The right angle will make the air moves slowly along the face of the kite and pushes it up. Meanwhile, air moves quickly along the back of the kite and it reduces pressure to create lift. Drag is dertimined by the wieght, design and the set of bridle and line on the kite. Drag is formed when gravity is pulled down on the kite. A kite must need more lift then drag to fly but some drag is needed to stay stable.
All this seems pretty intreseting. I mean, who knew that there was so much science behind a kite. But my kite didn't fly because of a very simple reason, there wasn't any wind in the air. I formed a litle wind when i ran so then it flew a little and hit the ground again.
